HAA members had a very enjoyable day visiting Farnborough Air Sciences Trust which opened for us specially and included a demonstration of the Cody Flyer and access to the Trident 3, Canberra and Harrier cockpits.

However the highlight for many was privileged access to the historic 24 foot and 4 x 3 foot wind tunnels, which closed nearly 20 years ago, and are very rarely available for visits. The 24 foot tunnel is very iconic with the giant concrete engineering and large mahogany fan blades weighing 600 lbs each. The photographers in the group took advantage of the opportunity, especially entering the closed loop of the main tunnel.

Many thanks to everyone who made this possible and HAA visits coordinator Jo Ayres for arranging a superb visit. Keep an eye open for further visits.
