The HAA would like to highlight the campaign to support the Catalina Miss Pick Up and the recovery of the aircraft, after an engine issue stranded the aircraft in Loch Ness at the mercy of worsening weather. An expensive operation to crane the aircraft out to protect it and replace the engine is in progress and a funding initiative is underway with details available here.
The team are previous Conrod Trophy winners and the technical issue is exacerbated by the unique aspects of water operations remote from it’s normal base. The HAA are not able to provide any direct funding but a number of us have personally supported the campaign, which members may also wish to support.
