The Mall Galleries, near Admiralty Arch, London SW1
Informal Visit and Guided Tour of Paintings
Thursday 21st July 6pm – 8pm
A late reminder that the Guild of Aviation Artists is holding its 41st Annual Open Exhibition this week at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London.
With 445 original works by 147 artists on display, it is an unmissable occasion for lovers of aviation and art. The works are described by the Guild as ”mainly representational and wholly original works of art, each the result of meticulous observation or careful research of aircraft, events, personalities and historical achievements blended with artistic skills in land, sea and skyscapes”.
Admission to the Exhibition is free and the Galleries are open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
However in the best traditions of sharing our passion for historic aviation with like-minded friends, a number of HAA members are planning to meet at the Galleries at 5.45pm on Thursday 21st July, to take advantage both of that evening’s late opening and the offer of a guided tour of the exhibits from 6pm till 8pm by a Guild member.
Past experience also indicates that we will no doubt subsequently adjourn to a local hostelry to further discuss the exhibition and old aeroplanes!
The Galleries are located at the top end of The Mall close to Admiralty Arch and Trafalgar Square; close to Charing Cross, Embankment, Westminster and Piccadilly Circus underground stations.
