Many of you will remember the problem of airfields being classed as Brown Field sites for the purpose of planning.

It was thought this problem had been resolved following a considerable volume of lobbying from aviators. However, the recently published Planning Policy Statement does not contain the wording that we were assured would be in it.

I have been asked to suggest that you go to the Government’s online petitions page and consider adding your name to the campaign and also circulate this information widely among your own members and contacts.
